Diversity Talk

A direct look into the lives of those affected

Diversity and inclusion are on everyone's lips. Yet discrimination is still the order of the day in our society. "Diversity Talk" provides a glimpse into the lives of people who are different in some way and/or stand up for such people.
Thenew talk show is hosted and edited by Stephan Lendi.

‍No
one consciously excludes others. Nevertheless, certain thought patterns - and with them prejudices - are deeply rooted among us. A woman who plays rugby? People with mental disabilities who take on athletic challenges? Men who are victims of female violence?

These are exactly the kinds of stories the new "Diversity Talk" on Blue Zoom is about. "We venture a direct, unadulterated look into the lives of people who are working for inclusion and social change. Some of them face exclusion themselves on a daily basis, others are on the front lines fighting for those who can't in the same way," says host Stephan Lendi. " The topic is cutting edge. Nevertheless, we as a society are making very slow progress when it comes to sexism, racism, homophobia and other types of exclusion. A corresponding talk show is more than overdue.

Exciting stories that give courage

The guest mix could hardly be more exciting. In the first episode, Angie Stadelmann tells what it was like to grow up in Switzerland as an adopted child from Colombia and how, instead of pursuing her dream of a career as a ballerina, she became a rugby player and a foster carer. In episode two, Sieglinde Kliemen gives an insight into everyday life at the men's shelter "Zwüschehalt", where the supposedly clear distribution of roles in society presents male victims with great challenges. In the other episodes, Special Olympics director Bruno Barth, elleXX founder Patrizia Laeri, and also Silja Blattmann, mother of a child with an autistic spectrum disorder, among others, tell of their struggle for acceptance in their respective everyday lives. ZFF director Christian Jungen and top model Manuela Frey provide insights into two industries at the center of social change. "Each and every one of these guests provides insights into a different life story or a world that touches the viewers:inside, but at the same time inspires and encourages them," says Stephan Lendi.
